Bill & Ted's Most Gnarly Reunion still waiting on "That other Guy"

Jan 15, 2010

In January 2010, an homage to the "Bill & Ted" Movies was proposed, in the form of a threequel, titled Bill & Ted's Most Gnarly Reunion.

...However, one production problem in particular has kept this project at bay:

No one can seem to locate the actor that was not Keanu Reaves, in order to complete casting and begin filming.

"We have been searching frantically for the non-Reaves actor, in order to get him a script, but with little luck," laments Drake Mallard, casting director for the film.

"The non-Reaves role in the films, though not as important or memorable," he explains, "is obviously a crucial piece of the puzzle; we can't really have a Bill & Ted reunion without...whichever one of them it was that the other guy portrayed.  We kinda need both here."

Executive Producer Hamato Yoshi also voiced concerns:

"The balance between them is key!  Keanu would say words like 'heinous' and 'righteous' with an unmistakable flair, which was matched perfectly with the timbre and timing of the 'dude-related stuff' that the blonde guy said.  Without that interplay, we're making a lackluster product here."

He takes a moment to explain further.

"Imagine something like Dumb and Dumber, but with only the dark-haired one.  It's a much similar problem; I mean, what's Jim Carrey gonna do without back-up?  Talk out of his asshole to animals?"

Indeed, when one half of a duo has reservations, any such undertaking is bound to have troubles:

"It's definitely a problem," notes Reaves himself, when asked about the situation.  "I spent some time in Tibet, and one thing I realized while meditating there was that without a partner, your adventures and journeys lean away from the excellent and begin to approach the bogus."

He sits in thought, clearly upset with this bump in the road.

"I miss that guy.  Fuck, what was his name?  And which guy played which?  I forget."
